COURSE DESCRIPTION

The Heartsaver® First Aid Course is a classroom-based program designed for non-healthcare providers. This course equips participants with essential first aid skills and the confidence to respond effectively in emergency situations.

Training is delivered using the American Heart Association’s research-proven Practice-While-Watching® method, allowing instructors to observe participants, provide immediate feedback, and guide hands-on skill development. The course is designed to meet OSHA requirements.

Upon successful completion, participants will receive an AHA Heartsaver® First Aid Course Completion Card, valid for two years.

Course Content Includes:

  • First Aid Basics
Scene safety, identifying the problem, calling for help, use of an epinephrine auto-injector, and more

  • Medical Emergencies
Response to choking, breathing problems, shock, allergic reactions, asthma, heart attack, seizures, stroke, and more

  • Injury Emergencies
Care for bleeding, broken bones, burns, sprains, and other common injuries

  • Environmental Emergencies
Response to bites and stings, temperature-related emergencies, and poison exposures

This course incorporates the latest science and updates from the American Heart Association Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care.
